Our man had his surgery and despite a complication leading to a stay in the ICU, he did well.  We're now trying to advance his diet.  Complaining of pain and harboring a fear that his stomach would "bust open", he's been reluctant.  Even the suggestion of rice porridge* didn't convince him.  Instead, he preferred to play with his PCA^ pump, ( Read more... )

License to kill?  NO!  A license to thrill has been issued this year.  This year's gonna rawk and has already in its infant hours.  Go on, ring it in proper.  It's a grood thing.

As with almost every Christmas since the dawn of my medical career, I worked.  Being on call Christmas day, I bear witness to real tragedy.  It was Stroke-o-Rama this time around.  One after another came and some in the most traumatic ways.  This one poor grandma was opening presents with the grand kids when she keeled over.  She couldn't move half ( Read more... )
